Map showing Crosby Warren

The Crosby Warren Oilfield, situated near Scunthorpe in the northern part of the East Midlands Petroleum Province, was discovered in 1986 and brought onstream a year later. The field was producing 35 bopd when Europa acquired it in mid-2006. Since then, pump modifications have increased production rates to 50bopd.

A new production well, Crosby Warren-2Z, was drilled in 2007 and put on beam pump.  Technical problems have resulted in sub-optimal performance and it is likely that, following engineering work, it will be hydraulically fracced to stimulate production and re-completed on beam pump.

Oil production is tankered to the ConocoPhillips Immingham Refinery whilst associated gas is sold to the nearby Corus steelworks.

In 2008, a significant new licence award was made ot Europa and Valhalla situated to the north and east of Crosby Warren.  These licences, PEDL180 and 181, comprise approximately 600km2 of Humber Basin, an area which has seen very littel exploration historically despite the presence of commercial oil on the western border and the largest onshore gasfield to the southeast.  A large number of leads ensure that the licences will continue to provide quality upside potential in the coming years.  An extensive 2D/3D seimsic dataset is being reprocessed and is anticpated to lead to drilling opportunities on the licences in 2010.
