Alastair Stuart, COO

Alastair has over 30 years of experience in operational, commercial and technical roles in the energy and IT sectors. He has been a consultant working with Europa since 2012. As a 1982 graduate of Herriot Watt’s Masters programme in Petroleum Engineering, he began his career with Total CFP in Paris before joining Enterprise Oil in 1986, shortly after it was established, where he focussed on projects in the North Sea and the Far East. He was later promoted to New Ventures Manager, where he led the evaluation and progression of new ventures in South America, Eastern Europe and the Far East. After ten years with Enterprise, he worked briefly with Hardy Oil & Gas, before setting up his own consulting group in 1998 which developed processes and systems for managing capital allocation across large portfolios of investments in the oil & gas, pharmaceutical and venture capital sectors.

Jamie White, Chief Geologist

Jamie has worked in the oil and gas industry for nearly 30 years, including at Anadarko Petroleum, Serica Energy, African Petroleum, Calvalley Petroleum, and Vermilion Energy. He has worked in basins all over the world but primarily North, East and West Africa, the North Sea, onshore Europe and the west off Britain/Ireland. He has supervised exploration, new ventures, appraisal and development projects across the spectrum but with a primary focus on exploration, appraisal and new ventures for medium and small sized independents. Jamie is a proven oil and gas finder and has contributed to multiple discoveries across the world. He has worked extensively in new business development. With Europa, Jamie has worked to unlock the potential of the company’s EG-08 licence in Equatorial Guinea as well as continuing its efforts to farm out its offshore Ireland acreage. He holds a BSc in Geology from Durham University and an MSc and DIC from Imperial College London in Petroleum Geoscience.
